2010 Chevrolet Impala vs 2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5\Pontiac G3 moderate head-on crash test
Impala:
ood: The Impala performed significantly better than the Aveo 5, good structure resulted in minimal to no intrusion into the driver's survival space and risk of injuries, including for both legs, is very low
Aveo 5 [This rating also applies to the Pontiac G3 because it is a rebadged version of the same Chevrolet.] :
errible: the Aveo had completely unstable structure, the driver's head sled off the airbag and hit the dashboard and pillar with high head acceleration from this hit, both legs would have been broken and were trapped in the crushed footwell along with a disintegrated dashboard due to the poor build quality of the Aveo 5's interior, and several steps had to be taken to remove the dummy as a result, accompanied by a very high possibility of death in a crash with similar circumstances.
Pre-test:
Post-test:
Post-test: Chevrolet Impala
Post-test: Chevrolet Aveo 5

I wouldn't be surprised if the moderate overlap or side impact tests show a higher possibility of death in the same car.

These results remind me of other cars that earned acceptable ratings all because of a poor leg rating in their injury measures.
